Description
This is a hand drawn star rubber stamp. There is a story behind the design…(and it explains why this stamp might make an awesome science gift!)
While these hand drawn stars are fun and will make a great addition to your projects, they also have a history. In 1609 Galileo heard about the invention of the telescope and built his own version. He turned his new device to the heavens and saw stars never before seen with the naked eye. In order to share his discoveries, he published Starry Messenger in 1610 which included several sketches of stars he observed. The stars in this stamp are a subset of one constellation originally printed hundreds of years ago! Enjoy a little bit of science history with these timeless stars!
Size: 1 x 2.5 inch wood. See the third preview page for details of the stamped image size.
Each rubber stamp is precision made and mounted on an art stamp wooden backing. The stamp rubber may be red or grey. The wood is fine grained maple with smooth rounded edges on two sides for comfort while holding it. The image is laser engraved on the wood before it is adhered to the stamp.
